How to add other email accounts to your gmail account

Gmail is my preferred free email service (better than hotmail, yahoo, msn etc...). One of its great features is the ability to access your other email accounts from your Gmail account.

Here is how to set it up:

1. Login to your Gmail account
2. Click 'settings'
3. Choose the "Accounts and Import" tab
4. Finally, follow the "Add another account" wizard

When you have setup your accounts you can

• Choose which email account is your default (new emails will be sent from this account unless you select another account)
• Reply to emails from your other accounts (they will appear as if they came from your other account - i.e. from the account the email was sent to)

Please note that Gmail checks for emails from other accounts periodically - not instantly! This is typically about 1 hour but varies according to the frequency that you receive emails on that account.

You can force Gmail to check for emails by clicking the "Check Mail Now" link. This is now a "Refresh" circle.
